Recently I spent two sessions in one day in Deep Ellum... it is a great place for a session, whether it is children, baby, family, engagement, or senior portraits!   It just so happened that the two clients I had that Sunday each wanted to try an urban session.  And the coincidences didn't stop there... both families also had two boys and they were both the same ages!  How weird (and cool) is that?!?

So that morning I met up with Stacie and Trent and their two beautiful boys.  What a gorgeous family!  We tried a few in Deep Ellum and then headed over to Flagpole Hill near White Rock Lake for a little nature. 

Later that afternoon I met up with Amy and Wes and their cute boys.  We stayed around Deep Ellum and tried a few locations I haven't shot at, like the Latino Cultural Center... love those orange walls!!!  And the boys loved running around!  Active, active, active... and fun!   Here are a few from Deep Ellum, part deux...

Sunday afternoon... more rain!  We have had so much this fall!  It is kind of cramping my session style, you know?  But the rain didn't stop me from meeting a beautiful Skye.  (Sorry Skye... I'm sure you have heard that your whole life!)

Skye and Chris and their adorable son, Connor had me over to their home for an indoor photo session.   Connor is such a cutie!  We got some family photos and then I enjoyed watching the little man play.   I loved his laughter when Chris pretended to trip.  He couldn't get enough of it!   Which made Skye laugh as well!

I still can't believe Matilda is already a year old!  I was lucky enough to photograph her back in December and I just had to do another image with her reading Good Night Moon like we shot last time to show the progression of age... still love that orange and green combo of chair and wall!  I really can't get over how much bigger she is...  I just adore her little smile!  Ron and Jessica both have so much fun in life so no wonder she knows how to use it!  

Everyone loves this family so much and we will all be sad when they move to L.A. in August.  I must admit, however, that I am a little more than jealous of your new state, what with this horrendous Texas heat and all!  Someday, Tracy, someday!  

August is a big month for them because as you can see by the beautiful roundness of Jessica's belly... Matilda will have a baby sister in just a month!  Congratulations to all three of you!

And most of all.. happy first birthday, Matilda!

Baby Benjamin just celebrated his first birthday... Happy Birthday, Ben!  I have looked forward to doing a session with this little guy ever since the first time I laid eyes on him!  Such a cutie and a happy boy, too! 

We played a little at the park, where Tim and Robin brought his little red car with them.  He has started taking a few steps at a time so he loved pushing it around.  He had no interest in riding but I really enjoyed how he is embracing his new and soon-to-be increasing feeling of independence!  Just you wait guys... the chasing is almost on!  He even took a several steps right to me once we got back to their house to continue the session. 

Benjamin loves books.  And I adore the pictures we took in his room... mostly because several of his books used to belong to my own son so looking at the pictures of him in his diaper, reading takes me back 5 years!  But I also happen to be slightly fond of the colors in his room!
