It has been a busy, busy season!  I'm finding it hard to post previews on the blog and am just jumping right into the proofs.  But I couldn't resist posting this image of my sweet son, Campbell.  Took this over the weekend while playing out in the front yards with my best friend/neighbor, Ninotchka.    I love his messy haircut that is in need of a cut so badly.  He just looks so relaxed... I may even use that as my Christmas Card!

Well... this week our son came home with his first black eye.  He said, "It's a shiner, mommy!"   (cutie)

So, here is how it happened...

He and some of the kids at his after school program were playing a game he called "Monkey in the Middle" -- sounds crazy to me!  Apparently the game consists of throwing shoes in the air and I'm guessing someone is in the middle???  So a flying shoe hit him in the eye.  Of course, my question was, "Campbell, was  there an adult in the room?"  Hmmm...

Oh well, I am sure it is the first of several over the course of his childhood, teen years, and possibly manhood.  I'm just glad this one was an "accident" and there wasn't anything worse that happened!

I tried for several days to have him let me get a picture of it and this morning he did.  And it makes me giggle that it was this morning after he had slept in a black "muscle t" (I usually call it something different!) AND he had his typical just woken up bedhead that I adore!!!

Okay... so they don't win all their games, but they sure have fun while they're playing!   The Dragons, my son's soccer team, played in a 4-man tournament under the watchful eye of Coach Croysdale... a.k.a. my hubby / Campbell's daddy.  It was a great day and even though we only played the two games, it was fun to see how much they have improved.  Here are a few shots from the day...

My son and I recently enjoyed a sunset playdate together at Flagpole Hill in Dallas.  We ran down the hill... okay, okay... HE ran down the hill while I took pictures!  We played on the swings... even if they were too small for him.  We went to the top of the steps to explore the flag.  We generally had a great, if not chilly, afternoon.  I love you, Campbell.

Yesterday was a beautiful afternoon and evening and I really enjoyed sharing it with my son.  He was actually excited to do a session!  Of course the swirly lollipop bribe didn't hurt!
